One argument against that is what happens if the player who has gets banned is the one who scored the only goal of the game to put a side out? Does that not put even more pressure on referees & FIFA don't seem keen to reduce their authority.<br /><br />One thing I think has crept in recently is players 'anticipating' a challenge by going over to avoid contact.
